Overcladding and commercial roof repair
What was the job?
For this commercial roof repair project, TRS were approached by the client to provide costs and proposals to correct a continuing water ingress problem on the original roof installation.
The project had a number of challenges. Firstly, working on and dealing with a fragile asbestos cement roof is always a challenge, but our teams were also carrying out the improvement works on a fully operational leisure centre with plenty of visitors on a daily basis.
A special crane lift was also needed to accommodate this type of roof sheet and to assist with the fragile roof surface. Once final design was agreed, the work was completed with no disruption to the leisure centre and finished on time and on budget.
We corrected the water ingress problem on the roof and provided a corrective solution to ensure to further damage to the building, as well as improving insulation values and upgrading insulation as a whole. The result was a safer and much improved working environment for staff, as well as an improved leisure centre for local residents to continue visiting and enjoying.
