Insulated built-up metal system
What was the job?
TRS replaced the asbestos roof of the Roche building at St Peter’s School, Gloucestershire, upgrading it with a safer, more energy-efficient solution. Required to swiftly improve the roof’s thermal performance, we proposed to overclad the existing structure with Garland’s R-Mer Clad Metal Roof System.
This solution enabled the existing asbestos sheets to remain in place as work proceeded, allowing new insulation to be installed quickly and effectively. This meant the roof was delivered on time, and ready for pupils to start the new autumn term.
To fully insulate and supply and fit a metal roof covering, as well as renew the roof lighting, during the summer holiday period.
Working on and over a fragile bonded-asbestos roof on a building in partial use with a tight time schedule.
The finish had high aesthetic value and provided an improved working environment for staff and students.
